Todd Gorder, VP of Technical Operations for Comcast Washington, will share highlights from his 28 years in cable and insight into the future of our industry. We'll also announce the newest member of the Mt. Rainier Chapter Hall of Fame!

Todd Gorder started his new role as VP of Technical Operations in the Washington Market in July of this year. Previously, Todd was in the Oregon/SW Washington Region where he had served as the Sr. Director of Technical Operations for the Metro area since 2009. In this role, Todd was responsible for leading fulfillment and preventive maintenance and supporting 500 employees, including 43 leaders.
Todd has been in the cable industry for 28 years. After completing his certification at the Unicom School of Communication in Montana, Todd started his career in Houston, TX as an Installation Contractor (Business Partner) and also held Technician positions in Sandpoint, ID and Vancouver, WA before moving into the Sr. Technical Operations Manager role in 2004.
Outside of technical operations, Todd’s leadership experience includes six years as a region, division and corporate manager where he managed deployment and operations for many of our new advanced products including High Speed Internet, VOD and Commercial Business Internet.
Todd has been a SCTE Member for most of his career and has had a rewarding experience serving as President for a term and also on the Board of Directors for many years. He believes the SCTE is an integral organization that introduces new and exciting training for all of our up and coming technicians, engineers and leaders over the years and he looks forward to working alongside his SCTE partners to come up with additional relevant training for our Technicians and Engineers for years to come.
Alden has been in the Cable Television industry for 38 years. He is the Washington Region Engineering Director for Comcast Cable in the Lynnwood Regional office.
He started his career in 1978 as an installer, worked many field positions including construction, service technician, plant maintenance technician, and headend technician. He was promoted to Engineer in 1998 to assist with network upgrades, with the All Digital video conversions, and has been intimately involved with the ongoing evolution to IP. Alden is now working as the Network Engineering Director for Comcast Cable.
Alden enjoys spending time with his wife Diana, his 4 adult children, and 15 grandchildren. Activities include fishing, family events, and lots of birthday parties.
